Stablecoin Card Spending Set to Hit $50 Billion Mark by 2028

Share

Stablecoin card spending is on track to reach $50 billion annually by 2028, according to RedotPay, a stablecoin payments company. This represents a fourfold increase from current levels.

The surge in adoption has been driven by the growing use of stablecoins in cross-border payments, treasury operations, and cryptocurrency settlements, particularly in volatile economies. Latin America has seen the highest adoption rate, followed closely by Africa.

RedotPay's co-founder and head of partnerships, Jonathan Chan, attributed the growth to a combination of factors, including real payment pain, easy stablecoin access, strong fiat off-ramps, and regulatory clarity. The company itself has over eight million users and an annualized payment volume exceeding $14 billion.
