Stablecoin Card Spending Set to Reach Record $50 Billion in 2028
Global spending on stablecoin-based cards is projected to quadruple by 2028, reaching a record $50 billion annually. This prediction comes from RedotPay, a company that specializes in stablecoin payments.
In July 2026, stablecoin spending through cards reached a monthly high of $1 billion, according to data from Paymentscan.
RedotPay notes that the adoption of stablecoins has been increasing globally. They are being used for cross-border payments, treasury operations, crypto transaction settlement, and as a store of value in countries with volatile economic conditions.
Jonathan Chan, Co-Founder and Head of Partnerships at RedotPay, stated that 'Latin America currently has the highest adoption rate and growth potential, followed by Africa.'
