Stablecoin Cards Smash Records in August Transaction Volume
Stablecoin-based crypto payment cards are rapidly expanding their use cases. According to recent data, these cards posted monthly highs in August for transaction value, number of payments, and users.
The total transaction value reached $1.076 billion in August, surpassing the $1 billion mark for a second consecutive month after July. Payments numbered about 10.67 million in August, with an average payment value of $100.80.
RedotPay accounted for approximately 36 percent of the total transaction volume, followed by EtherFi and KAST in second and third place, respectively. Growth was pronounced in emerging markets, with Singapore payments firm StraitsX reporting a 600% increase in total transaction value in low-GDP regions.
The average number of users of Binance's Brazil card rose 53 percent in the second quarter of 2026 from the launch quarter, and average transaction value increased by 80 percent. Key uses included ride-hailing, food delivery, groceries, restaurants, and online subscriptions.
