CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost has observed that stablecoin inflows to exchanges have been declining since 2025. The current average monthly inflow of USDT and USDC is $2.3 billion, while the annual average is about $3.7 billion.

Comparing this to a previous peak in 2021 when the price of Bitcoin reached its all-time high, the average monthly inflow was $5.6 billion, with an annual average of $4.3 billion.

The analyst notes that stablecoin inflows are a lagging indicator, meaning they often increase after investors accelerate profit-taking and exchanges supply more stablecoins to meet demand.
