Stablecoin Infrastructure Platforms: A Growing Necessity
The rise of stablecoins has led to a growing demand for specialized infrastructure platforms that can handle their issuance, custody, and acceptance. These platforms offer a range of features, including fiat ramps, payouts, merchant acceptance, cross-border settlement, treasury tools, reserve reporting, transaction screening, and APIs.
Two leading players in the stablecoin infrastructure space are Bridge and Paxos. Bridge's platform is best suited for branded stablecoins and orchestration, featuring Open Issuance, virtual accounts, cards, and wallets. Its due-diligence factor includes a developer environment with REST APIs, sandbox testing, and signed webhooks.
Paxos, on the other hand, specializes in regulated institutional issuance, issuing PYUSD, USDP, and USDG tokens through its platform. Paxos also offers mint/redeem, payout, custody, and brokerage APIs, providing a clear issuer for buyers. However, access to these services may depend on the jurisdiction.
Circle is another notable player in the stablecoin infrastructure space, particularly known for USDC-first payments. While Circle's platform does not have a detailed breakdown like Bridge or Paxos, it offers a robust range of features and services.
