Stablecoin Market Contracts $7.7 Billion as Transaction Volume Hits Record High

The stablecoin market has experienced its largest decline since the Terra-Luna collapse in May 2022, contracting by $7.7 billion in June to a total market capitalization of approximately $300 billion.

This decrease brings the market capitalization down nearly $10 billion from its peak in May and reflects a significant drop in circulating supply.

However, despite this contraction, adjusted transaction volume surged to a record $1.79 trillion, representing a 63% increase from May and a staggering 125% increase year-on-year.

This divergence between declining market capitalization and rising transaction volumes highlights the complex relationship between supply and usage dynamics in the stablecoin sector.
