Stablecoin Payments Gain Traction Among Non-Financial Firms
Stablecoins are increasingly being used by non-financial companies for global payments due to their efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Meta, Scale AI, and SpaceX have already started using stablecoins like USDC and USDT for contractor payouts and cross-border transactions.
The main advantage of stablecoins is that they settle in seconds, 24/7, eliminating the delays associated with traditional banking hours and multi-day wire transfers. Cross-border payments also avoid costly intermediary banks, resulting in fees under $1 compared to the typical 2-7% seen in traditional systems.
The growth of stablecoin adoption is supported by the increasing market size, which reached $308 billion as of August 31, 2026. USDC and USDT account for a significant portion of this figure, making them ideal for businesses looking to move money efficiently without exposure to volatile crypto prices.
