Stablecoin Payments Simplify International Transactions for Senders
Stablecoins make international transactions easier for senders but pose challenges for recipients.
Sending money abroad can be a complex process, especially for those who need to spend it immediately. For example, someone sending euros from Italy to Brazil may have to go through multiple steps, including exchanging the euros for dollars and then converting those dollars into reais. This process can take days or even weeks, leaving recipients with little time to act.
Stablecoins, such as USDC, are designed to track a currency, usually the dollar, and move across blockchain networks. They offer an alternative to traditional transfer methods, allowing senders to convert their money into digital tokens that can be sent quickly and easily.
However, receiving stablecoin payments is not always straightforward. Recipients may need to sell the tokens and withdraw the proceeds into a local account, which can take time and incur additional fees.
