Stablecoins and Tokenized Assets Emerge as Crypto's New Strongholds
At Coinfest Asia 2026, Bitget Wallet's APAC Head Will Wu emphasized that stablecoins and tokenized assets have become some of the strongest on-chain fundamentals in crypto.
According to Wu, a $300 billion stablecoin market and an 80% year-to-date growth in tokenized asset value demonstrate sustained demand for these assets. He pointed out that the stablecoin market capitalization has increased by approximately 14% from a year ago, reaching around $300 billion.
Wu also discussed the rise of distributed asset value for tokenized real-world assets, which has surpassed $38 billion and grown nearly 80% since the start of the year. He argued that on-chain activity patterns are more likely to reflect structural differences in market access rather than coordinated efforts by a small group of wallets.
Wu stated that he looks for flows, liquidity, and user activity that continue after incentives end when judging whether a rotation has staying power. He also emphasized the importance of understanding the fundamentals beneath the narrative, not just predicting the next trend.
