Stablecoins Dominate Crypto Market in Brazil
Brazil's demand for cryptocurrency assets has skyrocketed in the first half of this year, with purchase volumes reaching $14.68 billion, a 135% increase from the same period last year.
The Central Bank of Brazil released statistics showing that Brazilians bought $2.54 billion in crypto in June alone, compared to $1.48 billion in June 2025.
The rapid growth is driven by dollar-pegged stablecoins, which have seen a 158% increase in demand since last year, with over 90% of transactions using these assets.
Fernando Rocha, Head of the Bank's Statistics Department, attributed this trend to consolidation and expansion of the national crypto market, stating that 'it is consolidating and discovering applications and uses.'
