Stablecoins Give People a Way Out of Inflationary Pressures
Bitcoin's price volatility can be unsettling for those in countries with unstable currencies. However, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong believes stablecoins offer a solution. According to him, these digital assets provide people with an easier way to access stronger global currencies without leaving their home countries.
'Crypto gives people a way out,' Armstrong said. He pointed to countries where high inflation or currency volatility can rapidly erode household purchasing power. Historically, residents of these countries had few ways to protect their wealth, with the only options being to move or hoard cash.
Armstrong argues that stablecoins are changing this dynamic by allowing people to hold digital assets tied to stronger fiat currencies like USD. This can be done from anywhere in the world, making it easier for those affected by inflation and currency volatility to protect their savings.
