Stacks (STX) Soars 4% as Bitcoin Staking News Takes Hold
Stacks (STX) surged 4.01 percentage points in about 25 hours, largely driven by fresh news related to Bitcoin staking and sBTC.
The catalyst for this move is the formalization of Stacks' 'Bitcoin Staking' launch on September 13th, which will allow native BTC yield on the network via sBTC. This enables BTC holders to stake directly through Stacks while keeping their price exposure intact.
The launch and a fully allocated Genesis Bond pool have validated demand for native BTC yield, which should lead to increased STX staking and utility in the Proof of Transfer (PoX) design.
The move is also happening against a backdrop of a mild market recovery, with total crypto market cap up about 0.98% over the last 24 hours. This has supported altcoin bids, including STX, which has seen its price grind higher while volume thins.
