Stacks (STX) Surges 23% on Bitcoin's Expanding Utility
Stacks (STX) has surged over 23% in recent days, leading all top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. This price increase is attributed to Bitcoin's expanding utility, particularly its staking feature, which allows holders to earn a yield while keeping their coins on the base layer.
The Genesis Bond, scheduled for September 10th, will enable self-custodial Bitcoin staking, making it easier for holders to participate. As a result, network usage has spiked, with Total Value Locked (TVL) increasing from $83 million to $102 million in six days and decentralized exchange volume more than doubling.
Chain fees have also seen a significant increase, rising almost 10 times from $339 to $3,139, indicating network congestion. The technical outlook suggests that STX prices may continue to rise if bulls can breach the crucial supply zone at $0.26-$0.30 and clear the momentum reading of 0.1497.
