Stacks Surges 23% on Bitcoin Price Break
Stacks' token surged over 23% in a day to lead all top 100 cryptocurrencies by market cap, as the broader crypto market continued its rebound. This surge can be attributed to Bitcoin's price break above $80,000, which has driven up demand for Stacks, a Layer 2 solution for Bitcoin.
The expansion of Bitcoin's utility, particularly with the introduction of staking features, has also contributed to the increase in Stacks' prices. The social mentions of STX increased by 31.7% this week, according to LunarCrush.
The recent upgrade allowing self-custodial Bitcoin staking on the Genesis Bond has led to a significant spike in network usage, with Total Value Locked (TVL) increasing from $83 million to $102 million in six days. The DEX volume more than doubled during this period, growing from $960K to $2.18 million, according to DefiLlama.
The Chain Fees have increased by almost 10x, indicating network congestion and further supporting the idea that STX prices may continue rising.
