Stand With Crypto Backs 32 Congressional Incumbents Ahead of Midterms
A Coinbase-backed group called Stand With Crypto has endorsed 32 US congressional incumbents in this November's midterm elections. These endorsements aim to support lawmakers who backed crypto legislation, specifically the CLARITY Act, which is currently facing hurdles in the Senate.
Stand With Crypto Executive Director Mason Lynaugh stated that the group has expanded its efforts since its 2024 campaign, demonstrating that crypto voters can influence elections. The group claims to have more than three million registered US advocates.
The endorsements include Republicans Tom Emmer and Bill Huizenga. However, the CLARITY Act faces a procedural vote in the Senate on September 15, but it lacks the required 60 votes to advance. Crypto companies and industry groups have spent nearly $200 million on this year's midterms, with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand calling for enforceable ethics rules covering President Donald Trump's crypto interests.
