Stand With Crypto Scores Senators' CLARITY Act Votes Ahead of Midterms
Stand With Crypto, a U.S.-based advocacy organization for crypto owners, has announced that it will score senators' votes on the CLARITY Act in its public scorecards. The move is aimed at giving millions of advocates a permanent record of who backed the digital asset market structure bill ahead of the November midterm elections.
The CLARITY Act vote will be added to Stand With Crypto's existing congressional ratings based on lawmakers' crypto-related actions and public positions. The organization has urged senators to vote yes on the legislation, citing that it would deliver certainty about the technology relied upon by millions of crypto owners.
A recent report from Stand With Crypto found that nearly eight in ten cryptocurrency owners are likely to vote in the midterm elections, with 70% indicating that a candidate's crypto position would influence their choice. The findings suggest that the scorecards could play a significant role in competitive congressional races where politically unaffiliated crypto owners may use recorded CLARITY Act positions to compare candidates.
