Standard Chartered Dials Back $100K Bitcoin Call
Standard Chartered has tempered its call for Bitcoin to reach $100,000 by year-end, suggesting it may be 'too low' a target.
The bank's earlier prediction was made in May, and at the time, analysts were optimistic about the cryptocurrency's prospects due to increasing adoption and improved regulatory clarity. However, with the price of BTC currently hovering around $30,000, some are beginning to wonder if the $100,000 mark is a realistic target.
In an interview, Standard Chartered analysts acknowledged that their initial forecast was 'ambitious' but still maintained that they believe in Bitcoin's long-term potential. They pointed out that despite recent price volatility, institutional investment and adoption continue to grow, which could support further gains.
