Standard Chartered Expands Crypto Trading to UAE

Instruments

Standard Chartered has expanded its crypto services to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), becoming the first globally systemically important bank to offer institutional spot Bitcoin and Ether trading in the region.

The bank integrated cryptocurrency trading into its existing foreign exchange platforms, allowing eligible clients to buy and sell Bitcoin and Ether for immediate delivery through familiar interfaces.

This move follows Standard Chartered's initial entry into spot crypto trading in the UK in July 2025, where it became the first G-SIB to offer deliverable spot trading in Bitcoin and Ether to institutional clients.
