Standard Chartered Expands Institutional Crypto Trading to UAE
Standard Chartered has expanded its institutional Bitcoin and Ether spot trading services to the UAE. The bank's DIFC arm, Standard Chartered DIFC, is now offering deliverable BTC and ETH trading through electronic channels, giving clients access to these assets via their existing FX interfaces.
This move comes on the heels of the bank's launch of institutional Bitcoin and Ether spot trading in the UK in July 2025. The UAE expansion makes Standard Chartered the first G-SIB to offer this service in the country.
Standard Chartered DIFC is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), providing a secure environment for clients to trade these digital assets. The bank's existing digital asset custody and stablecoin services complement this new offering, giving clients a more integrated way to participate in digital asset markets.
