Standard Chartered Predicts Fivefold Rise in SKY Price
Standard Chartered's digital assets research team has published a report predicting that SKY, the governance token of the Sky ecosystem, will rise to $0.325 by the end of 2028, a fivefold increase from its current price.
This projection is based on the growth of USDS, the dollar-pegged cryptocurrency and principal source of liquidity for the protocol's lending system. The Sky ecosystem's business model is compared to that of a federal bank, which issues money (stablecoins), creates a governance framework, and charges interest to borrowers.
According to Geoff Kendrick, Global Head of Digital Assets Research at Standard Chartered, the value transferred to token holders will at least double over the next 12 months. The report also states that SKY price gains will keep pace with ETH gains and outperform BTC through end-2028.
The Sky ecosystem has experienced significant growth since its introduction in 2024, with agents borrowing $5.9 billion and deploying it across approved yield strategies. USDS supply reached $10.04 billion in June, a 96.9% increase year over year.
