Standard Chartered Sees $0.325 Price Target for Sky's SKY Token by End-2028
Standard Chartered, a major financial institution, has set a price target of $0.325 for Sky's SKY token by the end of 2028. This forecast represents a fivefold increase from its current price of $0.065. The bank's research team, led by Geoff Kendrick, global head of digital assets research, believes that Sky will continue to grow as USDS adoption and borrowing expand.
Kendrick compared Sky to a 'federal bank' due to its role in issuing stablecoins, maintaining a governance framework, and charging borrowers a wholesale interest rate. The token's value is distributed primarily through staking rewards, with token buybacks making up a smaller portion of that return.
The report highlights Sky's position as the third-largest stablecoin issuer globally, behind Tether (USDT) and Circle (USDC). Its sUSDS token had $4.5 billion in total value locked as of the report and was offering a 3.6% annual percentage yield.
