Standard Chartered Sees Chainlink Skyrocketing to $200 by 2030
Standard Chartered has initiated coverage of Chainlink (LINK) with a price target of $200 by the end of 2030, implying a roughly 25-fold gain from around $8 today. According to Geoff Kendrick, the bank's global head of digital assets research, this prediction is based on the expected growth of tokenized assets on-chain and assets deployed in decentralized finance (DeFi). By 2028, Kendrick estimates that tokenized assets will reach $4 trillion, up from approximately $340 billion now.
The same note also predicts a 37-fold increase in assets deployed in DeFi to $2.7 trillion by 2030. Chainlink's fees are expected to rise about 25 times over this period, with the token price following suit. Kendrick's targets for LINK include $13 by the end of this year and $41 before reaching its final target of $200.
The bank also expects Bitcoin to reach $500,000 and Ethereum to reach $40,000 by 2030, which would make Chainlink outperform both major cryptocurrencies over the period. The note highlights Chainlink's incumbency in the market, with a total value secured above $110 billion, covering roughly 70% of oracle-dependent value in DeFi globally.
