Standard Chartered Slashes XRP Price Target 65% Amid Cryptocurrency Market Downturn
Standard Chartered, a British investment bank, has significantly lowered its year-end price target for XRP to $2.80 from $8, a reduction of 65% following February's cryptocurrency market downturn.
The bank expects additional near-term price declines across digital assets, with forecasts cut for major cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL).
XRP had already fallen to its weakest level since November 2024 at $1.16 last month before recovering partially. The token is now approximately 59% below its July 2025 all-time high of around $3.40.
Standard Chartered's global head of digital assets research, Geoffrey Kendrick, noted that Bitcoin could test $50,000 before recovering later this year.
