Starknet Achieves Quantum-Resistant Transaction on Mainnet
Starknet's mainnet has successfully completed a quantum-resistant signature transfer test at a cost of approximately $0.06. This marks the first time a blockchain network has executed such a transaction on its live mainnet at consumer-grade pricing.
The transfer used a Falcon-512 post-quantum digital signature account that met full specification compliance, making it a genuine demonstration of quantum-safe cryptography operating in production rather than a testnet sandbox.
StarkWare announced its transition toward enhanced quantum security in late June 2026, and the mainnet transfer on July 22 represents the execution phase of that plan. The company's native account abstraction allowed the upgrade to happen at the account level without requiring a protocol-wide overhaul.
