StarkWare Achieves First Quantum-Resistant Bitcoin Transaction
StarkWare has successfully completed what it claims is the first quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction. This achievement demonstrates progress towards mitigating potential threats from future quantum computing attacks on BTC.
The company used a 'signature grinding' approach, which generates multiple signature options and tests them to prevent leaking private keys during transactions in the mempool.
This process can be computationally intensive, taking several hours, but StarkWare believes it offers a solution for making Bitcoin transactions resistant to quantum attacks without altering the protocol itself.
