Startale Secures $63M to Drive Tokenized Finance in Japan
Startale Group, a Singapore-based company building blockchain products for institutional financial clients and retail users in Japan, has secured $63 million in a Series A funding round. The raise was a single capital close that combined two strategic partners: SBI Group contributed $50 million, adding to the $13 million from Sony Innovation Fund's initial close in January.
The company plans to use the new funds to accelerate the adoption of tokenized Japanese equities and expand yen stablecoin use by 2026. Startale is also working on evolving its existing app into a SuperApp that combines payments, asset management, and on-chain services.
Startale's Strium blockchain, launched on February 5, is designed for tokenized securities and real-world asset settlement. The network has partnered with SBI Holdings to handle institutional settlement of foreign exchange, tokenized equities, and real-world assets.
