State Department Teams Up with Tech Giants to Protect Digital Rights

The US State Department has launched the Freedom Tech Excellence Program (FTEP), an initiative aimed at protecting digital rights and responsibly regulating AI. The program's co-founders include the Bitcoin Policy Institute, defense contractors Palantir Technologies and Anduril Industries, as well as the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.

Employees from partner organizations will collaborate with the department on issues such as internet freedom of speech, privacy technologies, surveillance countermeasures, and artificial intelligence. The program is a response to growing concerns about digital rights and AI regulation.
