Stellar Leadership Discusses Network Growth and Future Plans
The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) recently hosted a Q2 webinar to discuss network performance and future plans. The event featured senior leadership, including CEO Denelle Dixon, Chief Product Officer Tomer Weller, Chief Technology Officer Raja Chakraborty, and VP of Product Jose Da Ponte.
The team discussed the growth of payments, tokenization, and developer tools on the network. While specific metrics for Q2 were not shared, the SDF emphasized an increase in active accounts and asset issuance as key measures of adoption for institutions and fintechs using the network.
Dixon and her colleagues also talked about strategy and ecosystem priorities, including Soroban smart contracts and compliant tools for regulated assets. They highlighted the importance of infrastructure improvements being turned into products for exchanges, financial custodians, and traditional financial institutions to comply with changing regulations.
The SDF's roadmap focuses on new product releases for RWA (real-world asset), cross-border payments, and ecosystem incentives. This aligns with increasing institutional participation in tokenized assets and blockchain settlement, a trend also observed in other blockchains like Ethereum and Polygon.
