Stellar RWA Assets Surpass $3 Billion, Outpacing DeFi Markets
Tokenized real-world assets on Stellar have surpassed $3 billion in value, far exceeding the network's DeFi markets. This growth is largely attributed to four key products: Amundi and Spiko Overnight Swap Fund at $713 million, Spiko's T-Bill fund at $536 million, Ondo's USDY at over $533 million, and VuMe Bond 2030 at $500 million.
RedStone, an oracle provider, credits the success of these assets to pricing. The report highlights that traditional financial instruments like Treasuries, credit funds, and money market shares have settlement schedules that don't align with the 24/7 nature of DeFi markets. To address this issue, RedStone has implemented 55 SEP-40 price feeds spanning various asset classes.
The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) plans to bring DTC-custodied assets to Stellar in 2027, which could further boost the network's RWA tokenization capabilities. The DTCC currently holds $114 trillion in assets under custody.
