Stellar Stumbles: $1 Target by 2030 Looks Increasingly Elusive
The Stellar (XLM) cryptocurrency has been struggling to regain its footing after a recent decline. As of July 28, XLM traded near $0.17, leaving it well below key long-term resistance levels and extending its weekly decline to around 6%. To reach the ambitious target of $1 by 2030, XLM would need to experience a significant gain of approximately 483% from current prices.
While Stellar continues to expand its role in tokenization and cross-border payments, stronger network demand and sustained buying pressure are necessary for XLM to reach $1. Institutional adoption remains a crucial factor in Stellar's long-term investment case. The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) have announced plans to connect DTCC's tokenization platform to the Stellar network by 2027, which could potentially drive growth.
However, technical analysis suggests that XLM still faces significant hurdles. With prices trading below its 50-, 100-, and 200-week exponential moving averages, the trend continues to favor sellers despite occasional rallies. To improve the long-term outlook, buyers would need to reclaim the $0.18-$0.19 area and challenge the resistance cluster around $0.21-$0.22.
