Stellar Surges as Circle's CCTP Boosts USDC Supply

Circle's deployment of its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) on Stellar has led to a significant surge in USDC supply on the network, pushing the stablecoin's market cap to $365.5 million in just 30 days.

This growth spurt is notable for a network that has positioned itself as a key player in cross-border payments and remittances. The increase tracks closely with Circle's deployment of CCTP on Stellar back in May 2026, which connects the network to 23 other blockchains.

CCTP uses a burn-and-mint mechanism to move USDC between chains, sidestepping problems associated with wrapped tokens and third-party bridges. This allows users to send USDC from Ethereum to Stellar without relying on intermediaries or introducing counterparty risk.
