The Stellar blockchain has reached a significant milestone, surpassing 10 million funded accounts. This growth in user base has sparked debate over the actual distribution and accessibility of XLM holdings.
Recent community data indicates that a majority of XLM holders manage minimal balances, while a small number of accounts hold much larger sums. For example, holding 1,400 XLM places an account among the top 4%, while 12,274 XLM secures a spot in the top 1%. At current market prices around $0.18, this translates to just a few hundred dollars for top-4% status and under $2,500 for top-1% status.
The concentration of XLM remains evident at the top, with a handful of large wallets retaining a significant proportion of available tokens. This coexistence between widespread account ownership and concentrated supply continues to characterize Stellar's ecosystem.
