Stellar (XLM) Surges on Macro, Fundamental Forces
Stellar (XLM) has been riding a wave of momentum in recent days, driven by a combination of macroeconomic factors and fundamental developments within the project itself.
The altcoin rally, which saw XLM climb by as much as 16.2% over the past few days, was primarily fueled by President Donald Trump's renewed support for a Digital Asset Market Clarity Act and the US Treasury's announcement to expand long-dated bond buybacks, injecting liquidity into risk assets.
However, Stellar-specific fundamentals have also been contributing to XLM's outperformance. The project is leading in tokenized 'real-world assets' (RWAs), with over $3 billion tokenized on its network and $490 million in non-US sovereign debt issued via partners like Franklin Templeton and Ondo.
The upcoming integration with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) to bring Russell 1000 securities and ETFs onto Stellar in H1 2027 is also being cited as a medium-term catalyst, positioning XLM as an RWA-infrastructure play rather than just a legacy payments token.
Derivatives positioning and technicals have also amplified XLM's move. A heavily shorted asset rallied alongside the macro-driven altcoin move, increasing the probability of a short squeeze, with some analysts calling out a 'textbook falling wedge breakout' for XLM.
