Stellar's TVL Plunges Nearly 60% as Security Exploit Drains Millions
Stellar's total value locked (TVL) dropped sharply from an all-time high of $270 million on August 22 to around $98 million by August 27 due to a security exploit. The incident drained approximately $717K through a same-asset USDC swap accounting bug, causing Blend's TVL to collapse from over $150M to near zero.
The protocol incident highlighted a disconnect between robust network fundamentals and concentrated DeFi vulnerabilities. Despite this setback, Stellar's tokenized RWA market has grown to over $3B.
XLM slumped by 2.82% to trade at $0.18, maintaining above the major support bubble for eight days in a row. The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) points to slightly negative figures on the 4-hour & daily charts, while the one-hour XLM price chart projects a neutral trend shift.
