Step App Shuts Down Move-to-Earn Services Amid Token Uncertainty
The move-to-earn platform Step App is shutting down its services on August 21, marking the end of a nearly four-year run. The platform, built on Avalanche, aimed to turn physical activity into a source of passive income for users. Over 300,000 users across more than 100 countries tracked over 140 billion steps using Step App.
The platform had two tokens: FITFI, which served as the governance and utility token, and KCAL, used in the wellness marketplace. With services ceasing on August 21, the utility backing both tokens will evaporate, leaving holders with no value for their tokens.
