Step App to Shut Down After 4-Year Run
Move-to-Earn platform Step App will cease operations on August 21 after four years in business.
The decision to wind down the platform was announced in a statement from the project, which stated that it had reached over 1 million downloads and recorded billions of tracked steps during its operation.
Users are advised to unstake locked tokens and manage any remaining positions before the deadline. This comes after exchange actions earlier this year, when South Korean cryptocurrency exchanges Upbit and Bithumb announced they would delist Step App's governance token, FITFI.
Launched at $0.0049 through an initial DEX offering (IDO), FITFI climbed to an all-time high of about $0.73 before the decision was made to shut down operations.
