Sterling Digital Achieves First Verified Bitcoin Output at Texas Facility
Sterling Digital Plc, an AQSE-listed company, has achieved its first verified Bitcoin output at its West Texas facility. The milestone came during a controlled live-load test of the site's power-generation system and mining infrastructure.
The test successfully converted natural gas from the WAHA pipeline into electricity, computing power, and ultimately digital assets. Sterling's fleet of 420 mining servers utilized around 1.6 megawatts of net power generated by two 2-megawatt Caterpillar generators.
Once fully commissioned, the facility is expected to reach a computing capacity of approximately 193,500 terahashes per second. The company has secured a five-year supply agreement for up to 6,500 million British thermal units per day from the WAHA pipeline in Martin County, West Texas.
Chef Executive Stefan Michaelides described the result as 'a defining operational milestone' that demonstrated the site's power plant infrastructure could function under live conditions. He added that the focus now is on building on this commissioning run to achieve continuous Bitcoin production.
