Stewart Tells Obamas They Missed Out on White House Monetization

Share

Jon Stewart jokingly told Michelle Obama and her family that they 'left money on the table' by not monetizing their time in the White House. During an appearance on the 'IMO Podcast,' hosted by Obama's brother Craig Robinson, Stewart made the comment while discussing the Trump administration.

The comedian described watching President Donald Trump succeed Barack Obama as a 'surreal experience.' He asked Obama how her family felt about the transition and mentioned that it was a 'perversion of leadership' to see Trump take over. Michelle replied that she didn't know it was possible for them to profit from their time in office.

Jon jokingly suggested that they could have launched a 'Michelle meme coin,' referencing Melania Trump's 'Official Melania Meme' cryptocurrency. Obama quipped that her family could have had a Netflix deal a decade ago and even joked about starting a weapons company or selling missiles to themselves.
