Stock Market Closes for Labor Day: Crypto Markets Open
The stock market is closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, in observance of the federal holiday. The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq will reopen at their regular time of 9:30 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, September 8.
US bond markets and over-the-counter markets are also closed for the holiday, returning to regular hours on Tuesday. In contrast, the London Stock Exchange, Shanghai Stock Exchange, and Hong Kong's Stock Exchange of Hong Kong remain open today.
Crypto markets, which operate independently of traditional exchanges, continue trading 24/7 as usual. This means that investors can buy and sell cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin at any time.
