$STONK, Pons, and LAPTOP Dominate Global Crypto Searches Despite Price Drops
The latest CoinGecko Top Trending Cryptocurrencies list shows that smaller tokens are dominating global searches, rather than Bitcoin (BTC). According to the list on September 12, 2026, $PONS, $STONK, and Hunter Biden's Laptop ($LAPTOP) are leading the trending coins, despite $LAPTOP falling by 16.2% in the past 24 hours.
The high search interest for $LAPTOP can be attributed to its launch becoming a major media event due to political irony. Its creator was previously critical of other political memecoins but went on to launch his own token tied to a highly charged symbol of recent U.S. politics.
Pons ($PONS), the native token of the Robinhood Chain launchpad, has seen its price drop by about 2% in the past 24 hours and 11.4% in seven days. Despite this decline, $PONS still holds a strong market capitalization of over $433 million.
Pearl (PRL) has surged more than 55% in seven days and is currently trading at $0.59 with a market capitalization of around $150 million. The rally can be attributed to its model that leverages GPU compute for AI training and inference, as well as its collaboration with Together AI.
