Strategy Abandons Bitcoin Buying Blitz, Shifts to Dynamic Capital Allocation
Strategy, the company behind the MSTR stock ticker, has shaken up its approach to investing in Bitcoin. The firm announced that it will no longer direct all new capital towards expanding its Bitcoin holdings, instead opting for a more flexible allocation plan.
The company's MSTR stock price surged by 4.73% after Strategy outlined major changes to how it manages its Bitcoin treasury and capital allocation. This includes continuing to sell Bitcoin when management deems it beneficial for the balance sheet, as well as using new capital raises to split between Bitcoin purchases and U.S. dollar reserves based on market conditions.
Strategy has paused Bitcoin buying for three consecutive weeks while expanding its cash reserves to $3.75 billion. This move is part of a shift towards greater flexibility in managing liquidity while supporting financial commitments, according to the company.
