Strategy Adds Another 22,337 Bitcoins to Its Holdings
Strategy, a company known for its significant Bitcoin purchases, has made its 12th consecutive weekly acquisition. Between March 9 and March 15, Strategy bought 22,337 BTC for approximately $1.57 billion.
The purchase brings the company's total holdings to 761,068 BTC, with an average acquisition price of $75,696 per coin across all purchases since 2020. The blended average acquisition price for this latest tranche is $70,194 per coin.
Strategy relied primarily on its Stretch perpetual preferred shares (STRC) to finance the purchase, with STRC sales contributing approximately $1.18 billion. The company also used at-the-market sales of MSTR Class A common stock to fund the acquisition.
MSTR stock gained around 4% to $145.38 in Monday premarket trading after the announcement, while Strategy's Bitcoin holdings are currently worth approximately $55 billion, reflecting an unrealized paper loss at present market levels.
