Strategy Adds USD Cash Pool, Holds 840,447 Bitcoins
Strategy, a company that oversees the Digital Credit Capital Framework, has introduced a new liquidity component called 'USD Cash.' This move is aimed at providing more flexibility to management in responding to market conditions. The USD Cash pool will be used for various purposes such as acquiring Bitcoin, paying preferred stock dividends and debt interest, repurchasing stock, and repaying convertible notes.
As of August 23, Strategy reported a USD Reserve balance of $5.10 billion and a USD Cash balance of $1.59 billion. The company generated net proceeds of approximately $2.01 billion from selling 18,261,118 shares of MSTR Class A common stock through its ATM program.
Of the proceeds, $136.4 million was used to repurchase preferred stock, and $300.0 million was added to the USD Reserve. The remainder was added to the USD Cash account.
Strategy has 840,447 Bitcoin, acquired at an aggregate purchase price of approximately $63.36 billion, with an average price of $75,385 per Bitcoin. During this period, the company also repurchased 1,431,212 shares of STRC preferred stock for $136.4 million.
