Strategy Amasses Record $6.69 Billion Cash War Chest Amid Bitcoin Pause
Strategy, a company based in Tysons Corner, Virginia, has halted its bitcoin buying spree and is now stockpiling $6.69 billion in cash.
This dry spell stands out because Strategy has been aggressively converting stock, preferred securities, and debt into an enormous pile of bitcoin over the years.
The company currently holds 840,447 BTC, which amounts to roughly 4% of the total available supply of 21 million coins.
Michael Saylor, the CEO of Strategy, wrote on X that the company has increased its USD Reserve to $5.10 billion and established an additional USD Cash account of $1.59 billion.
This cash is not interchangeable with the existing reserve, which is set aside for preferred-stock dividends and interest on outstanding debt.
