Strategy and MARA's BTC Transfers Spark Sell-Off Speculation
Bitcoin treasury companies Strategy and MARA have made significant transfers of BTC in recent days. Strategy, which holds a total of 842,132 BTC, has transferred 1,030 BTC valued at $66.14 million, following its recent sale of 1,638 BTC for approximately $102 million. This comes as the company's founder Michael Saylor stated that he 'never sells his Bitcoin,' but noted that Strategy may buy or sell its holdings to manage capital when required.
MARA Holdings has also made a transfer, moving about 6,000 BTC, worth $384.6 million, to TwoPrime, a digital asset investment firm. This move follows MARA's recent sale of over 15,000 coins for around $1.1 billion, which was used to repurchase a portion of its convertible debt at a discount.
The transfers have sparked speculation that the companies may be planning to sell their BTC holdings, potentially contributing to a sell-off in the market. However, large institutional transfers do not always signal the same story, and it remains to be seen what the companies' intentions are with these latest moves.
