Strategy Banks $2B from MSTR Sales, Creates New Liquidity Pool
Strategy, a financial services firm, has raised approximately $2 billion through the sale of MSTR shares between August 17 and August 23. This is one of its largest single-week equity raises to date, with the company selling 18,261,118 shares during this period.
The net proceeds from these sales were allocated as follows: $136.4 million was used to repurchase STRC preferred stock, $300 million was added to Strategy's USD Reserve, increasing its balance to $5.1 billion. The remaining $1.59 billion was used to establish a new liquidity pool called USD Cash.
USD Cash is a separately designated account intended to give management greater flexibility in responding to market conditions. It can be deployed for various corporate purposes, including acquiring Bitcoin or MSTR shares, paying dividends on preferred stock, servicing interest on outstanding debt, and more.
