Strategy Bitcoin Cashes In on Repurchased BTC, Eyes Long-Term Growth
Strategy Bitcoin, a firm known for its long-term focus on holding onto BTC, has made significant moves in recent weeks. The company sold approximately 7,000 BTC at prices between $60,000 and $65,000 but repurchased them at around $80,000.
This decision was driven by capital cost and finance requirements, according to Phong Le, the Strategy CEO. He stated that selling Bitcoin helped fund dividends tied to the firm's preferred stock, which was a sound financial move from his perspective.
Strategy has developed a 'two-way strategy' that allows it to accumulate more BTC while selling part of its holdings to meet dividend payments and other financial needs. This approach has enabled the company to increase its Bitcoin holdings by 30% this year alone.
The latest acquisition saw Strategy add 4,603 BTC worth around $369.7 million at a cost of approximately $80,318 per Bitcoin. The total number of BTC now held by the firm stands at 845,050, valued at around $65 billion.
