Strategy CEO Predicts Company Will Outshine Bitcoin After Bear Market
Strategy CEO Phong Le remains optimistic about the company's long-term Bitcoin strategy despite recent market losses. He described the current downturn as another bear cycle, similar to the one in 2022, and stated that Strategy has successfully navigated previous bear markets.
In a recent interview with CNBC, Le noted that Bitcoin's weakness is largely driven by broader macroeconomic conditions rather than any problems with the asset itself. He also confirmed that Strategy will continue selling BTC whenever it benefits the business.
So far in 2026, Strategy has sold 3,620 BTC, worth around $104.7 million, while repurchasing 912,143 STRC preferred shares valued at $81.2 million. Le emphasized the importance of holding large U.S. dollar reserves and stated that the company currently holds around $3.75 billion in cash, enough to cover more than two years of dividend and interest obligations.
Strategy remains committed to Bitcoin, despite recent sales, with over 843,000 BTC held by the company, worth roughly $58 billion. Le described Strategy as the 'J.P. Morgan of the crypto economy' and stated that selling a small portion of its Bitcoin does not change the company's overall strategy.
