Strategy Defends Its BTC Trading Strategy
Strategy CEO Phong Le defended the company's Bitcoin trading strategy in a recent interview. He explained that Strategy pursues a 'two-way strategy' and may still sell BTC under appropriate conditions while remaining a net buyer overall.
Le stated that the firm's decisions on buying or selling BTC are not driven by the absolute price of Bitcoin, but rather by the cost of capital. According to him, the earlier sale of roughly 7,000 BTC at $60,000-$65,000 was the right trade at that time, as it helped cover portions of preferred-stock dividends.
Strategy has been busy reducing its net debt from around $7 billion to zero and building about $7 billion in dollar reserves. Le noted that financing BTC acquisitions via premium MSTR share issuances is also the correct current transaction.
