Strategy Ditches 'Buy Every Dip' Strategy for More Flexible Approach
Strategy, a company known for buying more Bitcoin with raised capital, has announced it will no longer dedicate every dollar to Bitcoin purchases. Instead, its future fundraising will be split between buying BTC and strengthening its USD reserve.
This change comes after Strategy went three consecutive weeks without purchasing Bitcoin between July 20 and July 26, maintaining a total of 843,775 BTC at an average purchase price of $75,476 per coin. At current market prices, the treasury is valued at around $54.77 billion, down from its acquisition cost of $63.69 billion.
Instead of buying more Bitcoin, Strategy sold 5.42 million Class A shares in July, raising $544.5 million and increasing its USD reserve to $3.75 billion. This amount is enough to cover preferred dividends and interest payments for over two years.
